> A base model in the old sense: no roles, no chat, just the most likely continuation of whatever you typed. OpenAI named four replacements for the retiring GPT-3 base models in July 2023 and shipped two of them; this was the small one. It goes on 28 September, and the completions endpoint goes with it.
